Product Description

This course is designed for Urdu beginners who may know none or some Urdu words, but are uncomfortable to start or continue conversation in Urdu.

This subscription course is thoughtfully designed to build the learner’s foundational conversation skills, while simultaneously introducing and reinforcing new vocabulary each week through engaging conversational activities seamlessly integrated into every self-paced lesson. They will learn and practice everyday topics while building a foundation of basic Urdu grammar (relevant to spoken Urdu). This way, they will begin to develop comfort and confidence in speaking Urdu.

It follows a conversational and activity-based style of learning a new language. Through non-live interaction, they will learn how to start and follow basic conversations. The course curriculum is designed and structured around everyday topics with progression in Urdu Grammar to make learning to speak Urdu fun, easy, and practical.

The curriculum is meticulously designed to encourage learners to gradually build upon the topics each successive week. Learners can begin to speak Urdu from as early as Day 1 around the topics covered in the lesson. Each lesson is also designed to be complete in itself where learners can continue to apply and practice outside class.

This course begins with Module 1 (assuming that you have zero to little exposure to structured Urdu learning) and contains 25 weeks (meaning 25 lessons). Each successive module contains 25 weeks of structured curriculum for language development. This is followed by two review weeks, and an assessment week.

The instructions in the beginning are primarily in English and is gradually moved to a bilingual approach so that learners could fully understand the lesson and could follow along with ease and comfort.

To cater to the attention span of an average learner, this course is designed for a 45-minute teaching time where the total teaching time is divided into two parts with an embedded 10-minute break.

What will you get?

Every week, you receive the Urdu Conversation 101 lesson that will have these components.

1. Guided Lesson Video:

  • A 55-minute recorded, interactive, self-paced lesson video. This includes 45-minute teaching time plus a 10-minute break. This setup allows the learners to recharge between the lesson.
  • The curriculum is carefully designed for this age group. Each lesson will allow you to progress seamlessly from one topic to another while learning new vocabulary, and developing skills to construct your own sentences in Urdu. We will cover grammar topics that are essential for conversational fluency.

2. Practice Tasks: To ensure that learning continues beyond the class, practice tasks are provided for every week’s topic. These learning tasks are carefully and uniquely tailored so that learners can practice the concepts and/or vocabulary learned during the lesson and are able to enjoy as they continue to practice their Urdu conversation skills with excitement and fun.

3. Feedback on Practice Tasks: Learners will also receive tailored feedback upon each submission of their practice tasks. For any questions during the learning journey, I’ll personally be there for you and your learner via email at [email protected].

4. Learner Progress Tracker: To ensure that we are connected throughout their language learning journey and you’re promptly assisted wherever and whenever needed, you/learner will fill out the Progress Tracker Form after completing each week’s lesson. This Progress Tracker Form is kept short and sweet to allow you/learner to easily fill it weekly.

5. Conversation Starter Prompts: You’ll receive conversation starters or audio prompts with every lesson to incorporate related Urdu conversations in your everyday life. These prompts make it easy and enjoyable to practice Urdu in everyday situations, further enhancing your language skills.

Note: If you are away during any week and couldn’t complete the lesson, you can always pause and resume the lessons when you’re back. Just let me know – email at [email protected].

What my other learners are saying?

Just can’t say enough about “ Urdu by Annie.” My daughter is initiating the conversation in Urdu on her own without hesitation. Annie’s energy in class was outstanding. Just by listening to her my younger kid learned much. Thank you Annie for giving the confidence to my daughter. My daughter is looking forward to continue with Annie soon.
